UAE Labour Card Eligibility

Labour Card is the most important document in UAE, and everyone must possess it whether you’re an employer or employee or work in a Government Sector or a Private Sector. In every case, you must have a labour card. Not only foreigners but the UAE national workers also keep their labour cards with them at every time.

In order to be eligible for the labour card, there’re some conditions that should be met in order to apply for a Labour Card.

For Employers

  • The employer must not hold onto expired labour cards, and he should keep his records in order.
  • The employer should make sure that his company’s standards are just according to the standards set by the Ministry.
  • He must ensure that employees’ salaries are in line with the profession.

For Employees

  • The employee must possess the necessary qualifications required for the job.
  • The employee should be at least 18 years old and shouldn’t be older than 60 years.
  • The employee should pass the medical examination and obtain the medical certificate from his home country.

Important: It’s crucial to note that the employer is responsible for providing the employee with the labour card within 60 days of his visit. If he fails to provide the labour card within the mentioned period, then he’ll be held accountable for it.

You can find Labour Card Number in two different ways:

  • Method 1: By downloading Official MOHRE App from iOS or Google Play Store.
  • Method 2: By Visiting Tas’heel Service Center, you can request your Labour Card Number, which will include your employment contract copy and your employment details. Tas’heel services centres are located around the whole UAE. You can visit them anytime.

  • Step 1: Install MOHRE App from iOS or Google Play Store.
  • Step 2: Login using your UAE Pass.
  • Step 3: Once logged in, click on your profile. You’ll be able to see your employment details and your Labour Card Number, along with the expiry date and issue date as well.
  • Step 4: Click on “View Labour Card“, and you’ll be able to see the electronic version of your Labour Card.

Download Your UAE Labour Card

As it has been mentioned that UAE authorities are no longer issuing physical Labour Cards. So, now, you can download your digital labour card from the MOHRE website. Follow the steps below in order to print your Labour Card.

  • Step 1: Visit the official MOHRE website.
  • Step 2: Hover over the “Services” Section in the header and click on “New Enquiry Services“. You’ll be redirected to the MOHRE Enquiry page.
  • Step 3: Now click on “Choose A Service” and select “Print Electronic Work Permit“.
  • Step 4: Start adding your details like Work Permit Number, Transaction Number, Person Code, and Date of Birth.
  • Step 5: Enter the security code that you’ll see on the screen.
  • Step 6: Click on “Search“, and you’ll be able to see your details on the screen.
  • Step 7: Click on “Print“, and your labour will successfully be downloaded to your device.

Labour Card Expiry

The Labour Card of UAE comes with a validity of 2 years, and for government employees, the validity is 3 years; the employee can renew his Labour Card if both the employee and employer agree. In case your labour card expires, you must renew it within 50 days of its expiry.

UAE Labour Card Fine Check

Failing to renew your labour card, you can be fined up to 500 AED. In order to check your labour card fine, follow the steps below.

  • Step 1: Visit the MOHRE Website.
  • Step 2: Hover over the “Services” section in the header and click on “New Enquiry Service“.
  • Step 3: Click on “Choose A Service” and select “Fine Calculator“.
  • Step 4: Enter your “Card Number” and enter the security code shown on the screen.
  • Step 5: Click on “Search“, and you’ll be able to see your Labour Card Fine (if any).
