Emirates ID Renewal Requirements

You need the following documents to proceed with your Emirates ID Card Renewal Process:

For Expats

  • Old Emirates ID Card
  • Entry Permit or Original Legit Residence Visa
  • Original Passport (Valid One)
  • Residency Visa Under Renewal (If required)

For children under the age of 15 or newborn children, bring the following:

  • Father’s Passport or Original Birth Certificate or Emirates ID
  • 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm photographs against a white background
  • Visa & Passport of the Sponsor Person (Only Needed for Newborns)

For UAE Nationals

  • 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm personal photographs against a white background
  • Bring the original Valid Agency Certificate if the application is being submitted on behalf of the Person by a third party. Only in the scenarios when the concerned person is unavailable at the service center.

For GCC Nationals

  • Original Legit GCC ID Card
  • Original Valid Passport
  • Original Birth Certificate and Emirates ID or Passport of one of the Parents (For Individuals Under The Age of 15)

  • Proof of Residency in UAE

Step 1: Create and Register UAE Pass Account

The first step is to create and register your UAE Pass Account. You can do that by either going to the ICP Website or by downloading the UAEICP App from the Google Play Store and iOS App Store. Once done, log in using your details.

After logging in to the UAE Pass Account, fill out your application by entering your details. Make sure to double-check the details before submitting the application.

Step 3: Text Confirmation

Once you’ve completed the procedure and paid the fee, you’ll receive a text confirmation of your application status, along with a tracking number with which you can track your Emirates ID renewal status. You’ll also be notified if any other confirmation is needed.

Now, if you’re an Emirati living abroad, you can renew your ID Online through the ICP website or the UAEICP App by paying a fee of 270 AED. You must submit your application 6 months prior to your card expiry.

  • Dress in the Official Attire of the UAE
  • Use a white background.
  • Keep a neutral facial expression.
  • Keep your eyes wide open and face toward the camera.

  • The size ratio should be 35 mm x 40 mm.
  • If you wear glasses, make sure they don’t cause reflections.
  • Image resolution should be 600 DPI.
  • Head covering in accordance with traditions and customs is allowed.
